Sports

This section is for everyone who plays a sport and has started to notice their wrists along the way, whether that is on the tennis or padel court, in the boxing gym, on the bike or at the bowling alley. Each sport stresses the wrist in its own way, so there is a separate article for each one and you can go straight to yours.

Tennis and padel players will find five exercises for stronger wrists, and boxers can read about why punching can hurt the wrist and what helps it recover. If your hands go numb or sore on long rides, the cycling guide looks at bike fit, grips and gloves. Bowlers have their own article on wrist positioners and braces.

If you have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and still want to keep training or playing, start with the guide to wrist support for carpal tunnel, which is also a good companion to any of the others. For anything that keeps hurting or came from a fall or a hit, please get it checked by a doctor or physiotherapist, and come back to these guides once you know what you are dealing with.
